4 Year DegreeThe Assistant Athletics Director for Communications is responsible for directing a comprehensive communications, media and public relations strategy for the College's Department of Athletics, including the lead contact for men's basketball.
The Assistant AD oversees the Director of Communications, graduate assistant and student workers.
Responsibilities include the creation and distribution of written and visual website content, photography, statistical compilation and analysis, maintaining historical archives and implementing social media initiatives for the department and assigned sports.
- Oversee the communications office, including hiring, training and supervising the Director of Communications, graduate assistant, student employees and game day workers.
- Sport coverage responsibilities include:
Writing event recaps, weekly press releases, update website, and distribute event recap and result to media organizations covering the team - Website updates include:
Updating team and department schedules, coaches and player bios, rosters, specific sport releases, event recaps, feature stories and other information relating to assigned sports.
- Sport Records & archives:
Design, write and update team record books and maintain historical records for assigned teams.
- Coordinate interview requests for coaches and players.
Travel to away competitions to meet the needs of media covering the event.
